Aged Coudersport Woman Succumbs In Olean Hospital

COUDERSPORT - Mrs. Margaret Schuppenhauer, 75, of Coudersport R.D., died unexpectedly at 5:30a.m. Sunday at the Mountain Clinic, Olean, N.Y. where she had been admitted a week ago.
She was born in Hebron Aug 24, 1883, the daughter of the late John and Clarissa Booth Schollard. She was married to Carl Schuppenhauer in 1923 at Chicago, Ill. Mr. Schuppenhauer died in 1952.
She spent most of her life in the Coundersport area and in recent years was employed at Backus Novelty Co., Smethport. Prior to that she taught in schools in Myrtle, Millport, Hebron and Buffalo, NY.
A graduate of Coundersport High school, Mrs. Schuppenhauer also graduated from Lock Haven Normal School. She resided in Buffalo and Chicago for a few years some time ago.She was a member of St. Eulalia Catholic Church and the Hebron Grange.
Survivors include four nieces, Mrs. Kenneth Barnes, of Millport; Mrs. Theron Reynolds, of Wellsville, NY, Mrs. Ellen Keatting, of Cheektowaga, NY and Miss Lucille Schollard, of Rixford; and two nephews, Wilson Schollard, of Eldred, and Jack Schollard of Cheektowaga.
Funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at a local funeral home, with the Rev. Arthur Leon, pastor of the St. Eulalia Catholic Church officiating. Burial will be at Eulalia cemetery.
